One of the most significant historical sites in North Macedonia. The site contains the remains of an Early Christian basilica from the 5th century and the restored Church of Saint Clement — one of the most important Slavic enlighteners and a disciple of Cyril and Methodius. It is believed that Saint Clement founded the first Slavic university here at the end of the 9th century. The mosaics at the site are among the finest Early Byzantine examples in the region.
The ticket covers the archaeological site of Plaošnik and the Church of Saint Clement of Ohrid. A morning visit is recommended to avoid larger crowds.
