Porporela

A stone pier built in 1873, approximately 130 meters long, closing the entrance to Dubrovnik's old harbor from the eastern side. At the top stands a red 19th-century lighthouse, and from the end of the pier the entire stretch of city walls toward the fortress of St. John is visible. During strong south winds, waves wash over the edges of the pier and reach the lighthouse.
