The central square of Ljubljana, named after the national poet France Prešeren, whose bronze monument dominates the space. Surrounded by Art Nouveau buildings and the 17th-century Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, the square is a vibrant cultural and social hub. Most of the city's events and celebrations take place here.
Free entry. The Franciscan Church next to the square is open to visitors free of charge — worth stepping inside for the magnificent interior.
