Pulverturm and City Walls

The north-eastern corner tower of the town's former fortifications, beside which sections of 16th-century wall have survived from the period when the settlement was defended against Ottoman incursions. The tower stands at the edge of the historic core, facing the canal that leads to the lake, making it an easy addition to a stroll between the main square and the bathing area. Few visitors seek it out, yet it demonstrates that Rust was not merely a wine town but also a fortified settlement.
