The contemporary building of the Scottish Parliament, located opposite the Palace of Holyroodhouse and at the foot of Arthur's Seat. It was designed by Catalan architect Enric Miralles, and is recognizable for its unusual combination of concrete, granite, steel, and organic forms. The building is of interest to visitors attracted by contemporary architecture and the political history of Scotland.
