Sé Cathedral

A historic cathedral dating from the early 16th century and one of the most important religious buildings in Madeira. It is renowned for its richly decorated cedar wood ceiling, inspired by Portugal's maritime tradition, as well as for its Gothic and Manueline details that bear witness to the Age of Discovery. The interior houses valuable works of art and represents an important part of the island's cultural heritage.
