Schmittenhöhe

The home viewpoint of Zell am See and one of the most visited panoramic summits in Austria. The cable car departs from the town centre itself, so the summit is reachable without a car. From the ridge you can see the lake on one side and the High Tauern range — with the Großglockner and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier — on the other. At the top, several marked circular walks of varying lengths are available, as well as the family trail 'Schmidolin's Fire Trial', designed for children aged six and above.
