The main beach of Positano, located in the very heart of the city — an iconic photograph with colorful houses arranged in an amphitheater above the grey sandy beach. The beach combines free sections with private beach clubs (sun loungers 25-50€ per day, the most exclusive being L'Incanto and Lo Guarracino). Its central position means that everything is accessible on foot — restaurants, shopping, and the historic center. Most beautiful at sunset when the facades are painted in warm tones and when the boat tours return to the harbor. Ferries depart from the beach to Amalfi, Capri, and Sorrento.
The beach is public and free of charge, but renting sun loungers and umbrellas is paid separately (around 20-30 EUR). The central part of the beach can get crowded during the season, so arriving in the morning is recommended.
