Mramornica Cave

Mramornica Cave is one of the largest caves in Istria, located less than two kilometers from the center of Brtonigla. It was first described by travel writer Alberto Fortis in 1770. The main hall is oval-shaped, about a hundred meters long and fifty meters wide, with stalagmites reaching up to thirteen meters in height, as well as stalactites and helictites in layers of various colors. The interior is accessible via maintained and secured pathways. The underground environment is humid and features steps, so sturdy footwear is strongly recommended.
