Spreuer Bridge

Spreuer Bridge

Lucerne's second covered wooden bridge, recorded as a complete structure in 1408. Beneath the roof runs a cycle of paintings known as the 'Dance of Death', executed in the 17th century by Kaspar Meglinger; of the original approximately 71 panels, 45 have survived. Far quieter than Kapellbrücke, it makes a rewarding end to a stroll along the Reuss.
