Buzet Old Town

Buzet is a medieval town perched on a hilltop above the Mirna River valley, surrounded by well-preserved walls and towers from the Venetian period. Narrow stone streets lead to the main square and the Church of St. Mary, and on clear days the panoramic view of the Istrian interior stretches all the way to the Alps. The town is known as 'the city of truffles' — one of the centers of Istrian truffle hunting.
