Motovun Old Town

A medieval town perched atop a steep hill, surrounded by Venetian walls, has preserved the authentic appearance of its historic core. Narrow cobblestone streets lead to the main square, where the Church of St. Stephen and the historic communal palace are located, while the walls offer a panoramic view of the Mirna river valley and the surrounding forests known for truffles. The old town can be reached on foot along a steep cobblestone street, or by tourist transport and a short walk from the parking area below the walls.
