Old Town Novigrad (Cittanova)

The small historic core, situated on a peninsula, consists of narrow stone streets, squares, and palaces from the period of Venetian rule. In antiquity, the city was known as Aemonia, while the name Cittanova was used for centuries during Venetian dominion. The old town is well suited for walking, and within a small area Roman, medieval, and Venetian traces alternate.
