Captains' Houses of Orebić

Orebić was the home of long-haul sea captains, and the old part of town preserves a series of captains' houses from the 18th and 19th centuries — large family residences with gardens, spaced apart in such a way that Orebić lacks the dense core found in other Dalmatian towns. Narrow streets lead up to the Franciscan monastery above the harbour, with views over the Korčula Channel and Korčula.
