Old Village of Bergün

Bergün (Bravuogn) is a bilingual village — German and Romansh — first mentioned in 1209, situated on the old road over the Albula Pass. The village centre is defined by houses in the Engadine style, with thick walls, deep-set windows, and façades decorated with sgraffito. Bergün has been named one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland, and a stroll through its streets pairs naturally with a visit to the Railway Museum and the church.
