Saint George

A small island covered with cypress trees is located directly opposite Perast and has for centuries been one of the most recognizable sights of the Bay of Kotor. It is home to a Benedictine monastery that is not open to visitors, but its very seclusion contributes to the special atmosphere of the place. The view of the island from the promenade or from a boat is one of the classic motifs for which Perast is known.
