Glockenspiel Square

Glockenspiel Square

A square in the heart of Graz, known for its mechanical Glockenspiel from 1905, embedded in the façade of a Baroque building — several times a day, wooden figures dressed in Tyrolean costumes perform a short 18th-century melody. The surrounding buildings contain one of the densest concentrations of arcaded courtyards in Austria, most of which are closed to the public, though a few can be reached through ground-floor passageways.
