Sfatul Square is the central square of Brasov's historic old town and has for centuries served as the main hub of trade, gatherings, and civic events. It is surrounded by colorful merchant houses from various periods, while at its center stands the former 15th-century City Hall. Today the square is a lively meeting place with cafes, restaurants, and cultural events, and the building of the former city hall now houses the Brasov History Museum. The square is also the starting point for exploring the old town and its medieval streets.
Entrance to the square is free. The museum inside the town hall charges a separate ticket of around 5 EUR.
