Syntagma Square

The central square of Athens and one of the most important sites of political and social life in Greece. In front of the Greek parliament building stands the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where the changing of the evzone honor guard in traditional uniforms takes place regularly. Beneath the square lies a metro station where numerous ancient artifacts were discovered during construction, now displayed as a small archaeological exhibition accessible to all travelers.
