Skanderbeg Square

Skanderbeg Square

The central square of Tirana, one of the largest in the region, surrounded by important buildings — the National History Museum, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, and the old Clock Tower. Redesigned in 2017 as a pedestrian zone free of traffic, the square is today the heart of city life. The equestrian statue on its pedestal depicts Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, the Albanian national hero of the 15th century.
