The largest square on the Dalmatian islands, the heart of the old town of Hvar, surrounded by the cathedral, arsenal, and loggia. The square dates back to the Middle Ages and remains to this day the center of social and cultural life. It is paved with stone slabs and lined with cafes and historic buildings.
The square is freely accessible 24 hours a day. It is most beautiful in the morning before tourists arrive or in the evening when the city 'comes alive'. An ideal starting point for exploring the old town.
