Brașov Fortress is situated on a hill above the historic city center and was built in the 16th and 17th centuries as part of the city's defensive system. Throughout its history it served as a military fortification, warehouse, and prison. Thanks to its elevated position, it offers a wide view of the old town, the surrounding hills, and the mountain peaks of the Carpathians. The fortress can be reached on foot from the city center or by car.
Access to the fortress is free. The fortress itself is partially renovated, and the restaurant within the walls offers a view of the city.
