A Frankish fortress from 1249, built on a hilltop at an altitude of approximately 620 meters. It was erected by the Villehardouin knights and later taken over by the Byzantines. From the top, there is a sweeping view of Sparta, Mount Taygetos, and the Lacedaemonian valley.
Included in the combined site ticket. Access is possible through the upper gate. The path to the top is steep and takes about 15 minutes from the upper gate.
