A Venetian fortress from 1714, situated at 216 meters above sea level overlooking Nafplio. The famous 999 steps lead to the top, though it can also be reached by car. From the ramparts, there is a spectacular view of the Argolic Gulf, the old town, and the surrounding Peloponnese.
The ticket is purchased at the fortress entrance. Arriving in the early morning hours before the midday heat is recommended, especially in summer. It includes access to all bastions.
