A Saracen defensive tower from the Middle Ages, built as part of a coastal protection system against pirate raids. It stands prominently on a rocky ridge between two beaches of Positano. Today it is a private villa, but its exterior appearance is one of the symbols of the town.
The interior is not accessible to the public — the fortress is private property. The view of the tower from the beach or walking path is free and very rewarding for photography.
