Valle del Bove

Valle del Bove is a vast volcanic caldera on the eastern side of Etna, approximately 5 km wide and up to 1,200 meters deep. It was formed by the collapse of an older part of the volcano, and its steep walls reveal geological layers that developed over hundreds of thousands of years of volcanic activity. The viewpoints can be reached via hiking trails from the direction of Zafferana Etnea.
