Veliki Cipiko Palace

Veliki Cipiko Palace

Veliki Cipiko Palace stands on Radovan Square, across from the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence. It was created by merging older medieval houses in the second half of the 15th century, during the time of Koriolan Cipiko, and its ornamentation was carried out by Andrija Aleši, Nikola Firentinac, and Ivan Duknović. From the square you can see the Gothic trifora — a window divided into three sections, the work of Aleši — and the carved doorway by Ivan Duknović, while the southern portal by Nikola Firentinac bears the inscription Nosce te ipsum, 'Know thyself'. Further along the main street stands the Small Cipiko Palace, with a courtyard and external staircase.
