Veliki Slap, standing 78 meters tall, is the largest waterfall in Croatia and one of the most impressive natural attractions in the Balkans. It is formed by the Plitvica River, which plunges into a canyon below the Upper Lakes. It can be seen from several viewing platforms within the park.
Entrance to the park is the only requirement for a visit — there is no separate ticket for the waterfall. Accessible through Entrance 1, a morning visit is recommended for better photography lighting.
