Bucavac Veliki — Primošten Vineyards

Bucavac Veliki — Primošten Vineyards

On the slopes three kilometers south of Primošten lies Bucavac Veliki — eighteen hectares of vineyards divided into fifty-six plots, locally known as vlačice. The stone extracted from the ground is stacked into dry-stone walls along the boundaries, creating a regular lace-like grid visible from the road. The indigenous babić variety is cultivated here, producing its finest wines in the karst soil of the Primošten area. The vineyards have been on the UNESCO Tentative List of World Heritage Sites since 2007.
