Less visited than Žuta tabija, Bijela tabija offers a spectacular view of the city and an authentic atmosphere of old Sarajevo. It is situated higher than Žuta tabija, at the top of Vratnik hill, with a view that encompasses the entire city all the way to Mount Trebević. The fortress dates back to the 15th century, originally part of Sarajevo's medieval defenses. It is ideal for travelers who want to escape the crowds and discover a hidden corner of the city — visitors often have it almost entirely to themselves, even in the summer months. Access is on foot from Žuta tabija (about 10 minutes further uphill) or directly by car.
Entrance is free, the fortress is open as a public space throughout the entire day. It offers an excellent panoramic view of Sarajevo, and a visit at dusk is especially recommended.
