Wildbad — Old Thermal Baths of San Candido

Wildbad (Bagni di San Candido) is a former spa area in the forest below Haunold, reached from San Candido via a forest path in about 40 minutes on foot. The healing springs here have been used for centuries, and a large spa hotel once operated beside them, drawing guests from across Europe. The hotel was abandoned, and today only the ruins of its facades stand among the pines, slowly being reclaimed by the forest. The springs still flow, and information boards beside the fountains tell the story of the water and its historical uses.
