A network of underground tunnels built during the Austro-Hungarian period (early 20th century) as bomb shelters and military infrastructure for the protection of the city. The tunnels remained forgotten for decades after World War II. Today, parts of the tunnels are open to visitors — used for exhibitions (including a permanent exhibition on the history of Pula), cultural events, and concerts. Ideal for families and history enthusiasts. It is cold inside (around 15°C) throughout the summer — bring a jacket.
The ticket covers a tour of the underground tunnels from World War I. Tickets can be purchased on-site, and the tunnels are suitable for children as well.
