Zvërnec Island

Type: ostrvo

A small island in the Narta Lagoon, known for its pine forest, wooden bridge, and peaceful atmosphere. In addition to the monastery (see separate entry), the island offers walks among Mediterranean pines that provide shade even at midday, and open views of the lagoon and surrounding mountains. A walk around the island takes about 30-45 minutes, with several natural resting spots by the water. During spring and autumn, the lagoon is home to flocks of flamingos and pelicans — making it a bird-watching destination among European ornithologists. Access is via a wooden bridge, which visitors cross on foot (cars are left on the mainland). There is no visitor infrastructure — bring water, especially in summer.
