An 11th-century Moorish fortress that dominates the city from Lisbon's highest hill, offering exceptional panoramic views of the city, the Tagus River, and the surrounding area. Throughout history it served as a royal residence and a prison, and today it is one of the most visited sites in Portugal. Within the castle grounds there is a museum with archaeological findings.
Tickets are available online and at the ticket office. Online purchase is recommended to save time. The ticket price includes access to the towers, ramparts, and the museum inside the castle.
