The largest church in Budapest, built in the Neo-Renaissance style and completed in 1905, dedicated to the first Hungarian king, Saint Stephen. The treasury houses a relic — the mummified right hand of the king. The 96-metre-high dome offers a panoramic view of the city.
Entry to the basilica is free, but visiting the treasury and climbing the dome are paid separately — around 8 EUR for the dome. A lift is available up to a certain height, with the remainder accessible by stairs.
