The residence of Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th century, today a museum housing precious relics, the sultan's chambers, and the harem. The complex stretches across Seraglio Point with views over three bodies of water. It also preserves the cloak of the Prophet Muhammad and many other valuable Islamic relics.
The Harem is paid separately (~8 EUR). Early morning is recommended — crowds are enormous after 10am. The Museum Pass Istanbul covers entry. Allow at least 2.5 hours for the entire complex.
