An 18th-century canal that cuts into the heart of the old town, built for the direct unloading of goods from ships. Today it is a beloved promenade surrounded by elegant Baroque palaces and the Church of Saint Anthony at the canal's head. It is especially picturesque at dusk when the facades are reflected in the water.
