Lake Ohrid and Galicica National Park

Lake Ohrid is one of the oldest and deepest lakes in the world (approximately 3 million years old, with depths of up to 294 m) and home to numerous endemic species. Galicica National Park, which surrounds the lake, offers hiking trails with panoramic views of both Ohrid lakes. The lake and its surroundings are under UNESCO protection.

Entry: Free

Visiting the lake and the lakeside promenade is free of charge. Boat trips are organized from the center of Ohrid at a price of 5–15 EUR per person. For Galicica, personal or rented transport is required — a tour to the viewpoint between the two lakes is recommended.
