A famous bronze sculpture from 1913, inspired by the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, placed on a rock along the harbour shore. It is the symbol of Copenhagen and one of the most photographed landmarks in Scandinavia. The sculpture was created by sculptor Edvard Eriksen, commissioned by brewer Carl Jacobsen.
Free access throughout the day. The location is next to Langelinie harbor, easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. Arriving early in the morning is recommended to avoid crowds and for great photos.
