An astronomical tower built in 1642 during the reign of Christian IV, one of the oldest functional observatories in Europe. Instead of stairs, the tower features a spiral ramp 209 meters long, along which, according to legend, Peter the Great once rode on horseback. From the top, there is a magnificent view over the old parts of Copenhagen.
The ticket is very affordable and includes access to the spiral passage and the observation deck. The tower is open throughout the year, and during the winter months it also functions as an active observatory for the public. Arriving at dusk offers particularly beautiful views of the city.
