A Norman fortress on the Thames, built in 1078 on the orders of William the Conqueror. It has served as a royal palace, prison, and treasury — today it houses the famous Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Buying tickets online in advance is recommended to skip the queues at the ticket office. The price includes access to all towers and a viewing of the Crown Jewels. Yeomen Warder tours are free and depart every 30 minutes.
