An 11th-century Gothic church in which almost all British monarchs have been crowned since 1066. Within its walls are buried Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Geoffrey Chaucer, and many other great figures. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most important sacred buildings in Britain.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the entrance. The price includes an audio guide in multiple languages, which is an excellent way to explore the rich history of the abbey. During religious services the church is closed to tourists — the service schedule is available on the official website.
