A neoclassical triumphal arch from 1791, one of the most recognizable symbols of Berlin and unified Germany. Built on the orders of Prussian King Frederick William II, the gate witnessed the most important historical events of the 20th century. Today it is free to visit and a must-see part of any trip to Berlin.
Entrance is completely free and the gate is accessible 24 hours a day. Visiting early in the morning is recommended for better photography without crowds.
