Catania

Catania is the second largest city in Sicily, located at the foot of Mount Etna. Throughout history it has been repeatedly devastated by eruptions and earthquakes, which is why its present-day historic center was almost entirely rebuilt in the Baroque style and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city is known for its squares made of volcanic stone, its fish market, its rich gastronomic tradition, and its excellent connections to Etna and the eastern coast of Sicily.
