Fažana is a small Istrian fishing town with a long tradition dating back to Roman times, situated along the Adriatic coast opposite the Brijuni archipelago. Its narrow cobblestone streets, old church, and picturesque harbour give it an authentic Mediterranean charm that is hard to forget. Visit it for the fresh seafood, crystal-clear sea, and as a starting point for visiting Brijuni National Park.

A 16th-century parish church situated on the waterfront, dominating the small square in the center of Fažana. The interior is adorned with several votive paintings and a wooden altar, while the bell tower is visible from the sea. Around the church extends an old cemetery with tombstones from the Venetian period.
The stone coastal promenade stretches along the entire town, with views of the Brijuni archipelago and the islands of Veliki and Mali Brijun. It is especially popular at dusk, when the silhouettes of the islands are clearly outlined on the horizon. From the riva, boats depart toward Brijuni National Park.
A themed park dedicated to the olive tree, opened in 2025 in the Olive Tree Alley on the outskirts of Fažana. Paths wind through the olive grove, marked with native Istrian varieties and stories about olive cultivation that has continued on this coast since antiquity — in Fažana's workshops, the amphorae used to export Istrian oil throughout the Roman Empire were fired. The visit is short and can easily be combined with a walk down to the waterfront.
Fažana is the only departure point for the Brijuni islands — the islands are literally right in front of the small harbor, a five-minute boat ride away.

A blue fish that is the symbol of Fažana's fishing gatherings. It is most commonly prepared on the grill, and every summer the Fešta od sardela is held on the waterfront, a tradition that has been going on for more than fifty years.
