Medulin is a fishing town in the south of Istria, set in a shallow bay facing a series of small islands. Three things set it apart: Bijeca, a sandy beach about a kilometer long with a gentle entry into the sea; the Vižula peninsula with an archaeological park and the remains of a Roman residence; and the protected Donji Kamenjak south of the town, with dozens of small coves. A day here is easily divided between swimming, walking along the shore, and a boat trip around the cape.

Emergency numbers ↗ HROn the shore of Bijeca Cove lie the remains of a Roman villa rustica from the 1st century, one of the better preserved on the Istrian peninsula. Mosaic floors and walls are partially visible, and the site is accessible on foot along the coast. The combination of Roman remains and a tranquil cove makes it an interesting destination for visitors with an interest in ancient Istria.
The parish church of Saint Agnes was built in 1894 according to the designs of architect Anđelo Majer, on the site of an older cemetery and a 14th-century church. It was constructed as a three-nave basilica and is the only church in Istria with two bell towers, making it recognizable from a distance. It stands on an elevation in the center of Medulin and bears the name of the town's patron saint.
The Marlera lighthouse stands on the southeastern tip of the Istrian peninsula, about twenty meters from the sea, surrounded by low Mediterranean vegetation and a rocky coastline. It was built between 1865 and 1880, and the locals of Ližnjan call it Lanterna; it was permanently inhabited until 1970. The cape lies off the main tourist routes, with no facilities along the way, offering an open view of the sea and the surrounding reefs.
