Noto is a city in southeastern Sicily, almost entirely rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1693. Thanks to its unique Baroque architecture crafted from golden limestone, the historic city center is today part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. A stroll along the main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, takes you past the cathedral, palaces, and squares that make Noto one of the most significant Baroque cities in Italy. In May, the city hosts the Infiorata festival, when one of the main streets is transformed into a vast floral mosaic.

Everything you need for Noto in one place
The cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas was built in the 18th century and is one of the most celebrated examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto. After the dome collapsed in 1996, the cathedral was fully restored and reopened in 2007. The broad staircase in front of the cathedral is one of the main gathering places in the city.
The main street of Noto runs through the historic center and connects the most important city squares, palaces, and baroque churches. Balconies adorned with stone corbels featuring lions, cherubs, and mythological figures are one of the city's recognizable details. The street is part of the UNESCO site of the late Baroque towns of the Val di Noto and represents the natural axis for exploring the historic core.
An 18th-century civic palace with a distinctive colonnade on its facade, today serving as the seat of the Noto municipality. It houses the Salone degli Specchi (Hall of Mirrors), which is open to visitors. The palace is named after the ancient Sicel leader Ducetius, and is located opposite the Cathedral of San Nicolò on the main city square.
