Preveza

Preveza is a coastal city in northwestern Greece, located at the entrance to the Ambracian Gulf, not far from the Ionian Sea coast. The old city center is recognizable for its narrow streets, traditional houses, tavernas, and a waterfront promenade along the harbor. The wider Preveza area is strongly connected to ancient history: nearby lie Actium, the site of the famous naval battle of 31 BC, and Nicopolis, the city founded by Octavian Augustus after his victory in that battle.
