The house connected to Ismail Qemali (1844-1919), leader of the Albanian independence movement and first Prime Minister of Albania, provides additional insight into the events that shaped modern Albania. Qemali lived in this house for part of his life and organized here some of the political activities that led to the declaration of independence in 1912 in the neighboring Independence Square. The displayed items — personal furniture, documents, photographs and letters — complement the story begun by Independence Square and the Museum of Independence in the city center. The ticket price is low, and a visit takes about 30-45 minutes. Ideal as part of a full-day tour of the historic core of Vlorë for lovers of Balkan history.
The ticket is symbolic and paid on-site. The museum depicts the history of the Albanian national renaissance and the declaration of independence in 1912.
