One of the most significant Byzantine churches in the Balkans, built in the 11th century on the foundations of an early Christian basilica. The interior is adorned with an exceptional collection of frescoes from the 11th and 12th centuries, which rank among the most valuable in the world. The church is under UNESCO protection as part of the Ohrid Heritage.
A mighty medieval fortress associated with Tsar Samuel, built on top of the Ohrid hill at the end of the 10th century. Its walls and towers dominate the city panorama, and from the ramparts there is a spectacular view of Lake Ohrid and the surrounding area. It represents one of the most significant historical landmarks of Ohrid and one of the most visited attractions in North Macedonia.
An iconic 13th-century church perched on a rocky cliff directly above Lake Ohrid, one of the most photographed locations in the Balkans. Its Byzantine-Romanesque architectural style and dramatic position make it a symbol of Ohrid. In front of the church there is a viewpoint offering one of the most beautiful views of the lake.
